Free weekend of MLB.TV on At Bat mobile
To thank all the fans who purchased MLB.com At Bat 2010, making it the #1 paid sports app in the Apple iTunes Store, we are going to be offering free access to MLB.TV this weekend (April 24-25) in At Bat on the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.
Several games will be blacked out due to TV rights-holder guidelines and will not be available as part of the Free Weekend special.
Games that are nationally blacked out on Saturday due to the national FOX broadcast are: Indians at A’s, Yankees at Angels, and Mariners at White Sox. The Braves at Mets game on ESPN Sunday night also is blacked out due to the national broadcast. These games are available to international MLB.TV subscribers, but are not part of the free weekend offer.
Standard MLB.TV local market blackouts will apply throughout the weekend.

At Bat for iPad 1.01 now available
The first update for MLB.com At Bat for iPad went live in the App Store Saturday, April 10. The release addresses a couple issues with application performance and usability.
- Interface improvements for faster loading, smoother scrolling, and easier to find content on Previews and Recaps
- Faster access to pitch-by-pitch and live Box Score.
- General performance and stability enhancements
Another update, v 1.02 is in development to address the frequent sited issue of the periodic stops of live game updating under low memory conditions.
Once bug fixes are out we will be moving on to v1.1 with new feature updates including league news, expanded scoreboards, additional pitch tracking detail and more. So keep a look out in the App Store for the updates.
At Bat 2010 for Android and BlackBerry
The 1.0 releases of MLB.com At Bat 2010 for BlackBerry and Android are now live on App World and App Market respectively.
Both Apps deliver LIVE MLB scores, Gameday pitch-by-pitch and game stats, standings, news, Gameday Audio, in-game video highlights, and Condensed Games for the 2010 season.
The BlackBerry app is currently available for BlackBerry Storm devices running 5.0 software. Apps for additional devices are planned for after opening day, but Audio and Gameday will be available to BlackBerry users on OS 4.6 and above via our subscription web app MLB.com Mobile Premium, accessible at http://m.mlb.com.
At Bat 2010 for Android is supported on 1.5 software and above, but 2.0 is recommended for the best audio experience.
You can expect update releases throughout the season bringing additional feature enhancements.
At Bat 2010 Update
MLB.com At Bat 2010 was just approved for sale on the iTunes App Store! At Bat 2010 has been expanded with more content and great new features including a search-able video library, league-wide news, team schedules, rosters and player stats, multiple favorite team selection, background audio playback, and Gameday Audio for Spring training games. And of course we’ll be bringing more enhancements throughout the season.
“Mad Money” talks MLB.com Mobile
Last Night, MLB.com CEO Bob Bowman joined Mad Money host Jim
Cramer on CNBC to talk about MLB.com’s mobile products including the
MLB.com mobile Internet site and MLB.com At Bat 2009 for iPhone and iPod touch.
During the interview, Bowman announced the latest update to
the MLB.com At Bat 2009 application.
The new version, 1.3, gives MLB.TV
and MLB.TV Premium subscribers live access to ALL regular season MLB games in
the application. MLB.com At Bat 2009 users without an MLB.TV subscription will
still be able to watch up to 2 LIVE “AtBat.TV Games of the Day.” (Blackout and
other restrictions apply)

Live game streaming in MLB.com At Bat, and other things you might have missed
Last night, At Bat 2009 users who upgraded to Apple’s iPhone OS 3.0 and downloaded the new 1.2 version of the application were able to watch LIVE baseball streamed to the iPhone and iPod touch.
Taking advantage of Apple’s new 3.0 live streaming capability, At Bat 2009 now
offers 1-2 live streaming games per day (Blackout
and other restrictions apply). The application will detect your available
network connectivity and deliver the highest quality video possible.
Today, fans using At Bat can watch a pair of prominent Interleague Play rivalries with the Chicago White Sox-Chicago Cubs from Wrigley Field at 2:20 p.m. (EDT) and the Detroit Tigers-St. Louis Cardinals from Busch Stadium at 8:15 p.m. (EDT).
We are planning to roll out more games as the season progresses. No updates yet on a timeline.
The launch of the latest version of At Bat 2009 completes a busy month for the MLB.com Mobile Team.
At Bat 2009 was selected as a winner of an Apple
Design Award in the iPhone Developer Showcase at Apple’s annual
Worldwide Developers Conference on June 9 in San Francisco.
The application was also named Best in Sports Technology at the 2009 SportsBusiness Journal Awards on May 28 in New York.
MLB.com At Bat 2009 Update Now Available
A new update to MLB.com At Bat 2009 has been released in the App
Store.
This free update addresses a pair of issues some customers have
been reporting related to intermittent crashes and audio feed
connectivity.

GAMEDAY AUDIO MOBILE FEED RESOLUTION
We recognize the live audio feeds you received today via At Bat 2009 on the
iPhone and iPod touch and Mobile Premium on BlackBerry were not the
digitally-enhanced, high quality feeds you have come to expect from MLB.com. The
digital equipment necessary to allow us to deliver that has been held up in
United States Customs and has forced us to find an interim resolution. We have
worked over the past few days to create and implement a temporary solution so
you could access the live audio until the digitally-enhanced feeds are
available. We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience this
unforeseen delay has caused.
MLB.com At Bat 2009 is LIVE
For all the fans waiting patiently for the new version of MLB.com At Bat, we have some good news. MLB.com At Bat 2009 was officially launched in the App Store last night. The big news is that this year the app includes Gameday Audio, so you can listen to every game with your choice of home or away announcers. And of course it still includes MLB.com’s exclusive Gameday pitch-by-pitch data and in-game video highlights. Audio broadcasts and full pitch-by-pitch are scheduled to begin on April 6th.
The app costs $9.99 for the 2009 season including the complete postseason and World Series. Here’s the feature set.

MLB.com At Bat Lite now available in App Store
MLB.com At Bat Lite
is now Live in the App Store. If you purchased MLB.com last season or
grabbed the free offseason version of At Bat, the latest upgrade will
automatically convert the App to At Bat Lite.
Why the change? The original version of MLB.com At Bat was set to expire at the start of
2009 season. As a service to baseball fans who purchased the app in 2008, we
decided to extend it as a free scoreboard app rather than have it simply stop
working.
Additionally, the Lite version gives new users the chance to try out the full Gameday
experience during Spring Training and the World Baseball
Classic.
Once the Regular
Season starts, the Lite version will only provide access to the scoreboard view
and the new “Extras” content. To get the full Gameday experience including
real-time video highlights and our new Gameday Audio feature, users can purchase MLB.com At Bat 2009. It’s coming soon to the App Store.
