GAMEDAY AUDIO MOBILE FEED RESOLUTION

We recognize the live audio feeds you received today via At Bat 2009 on the
iPhone and iPod touch and Mobile Premium on BlackBerry were not the
digitally-enhanced, high quality feeds you have come to expect from MLB.com. The
digital equipment necessary to allow us to deliver that has been held up in
United States Customs and has forced us to find an interim resolution. We have
worked over the past few days to create and implement a temporary solution so
you could access the live audio until the digitally-enhanced feeds are
available. We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience this
unforeseen delay has caused.

None of the audio links worked for me at all today. I tried every feed from every game on both Wifi and cell. none worked. Just got “connecting…” and then “error”.

Anyone else able to get anything?

I have the exact same “connecting…” and “error” happening for me too. I’ve yet to hear a second of a game.

Listening to Royals/White Sox on my BlackBerry now!Russhttp://wight4256.mlblogs.com

Is this why I’m not getting the audio feeds on my phone from Verizon? I was getting them during spring training, but now it just says it’s offline.

Any comments on this MLB? Why are some people getting audio and other not? I can’t get anything to load regardless of team/feed or wifi/cell. VERY sad :(

I have a Verizon BlackBerry Storm and have had a couple of problems getting the audio, but if I try it a couple times (refresh) it has been working.Russhttp://wight4256.mlblogs.com

This is incredibly disappointing. MLB had a whole off season to get ready for this as they worked to develop the iPhone app. And we don’t find out it won’t work until AFTER we buy and pay for the app. We are now into the season by four days, and no updated word, and not a single drop of audio available to many of us. After an hour on the phone with two Tech Support reps, I had to send an email to MLB to get an explanation as neither Tech knew of any issue like I was describing.

Can you say “refund’?

I’m disappointed as well. No audio at all for me, same symptoms, via my iPhone and AT&T. And no answer here.

I just got off the phone with MLB.com’s tech support, and they had no information about supporting any of the mobile products. They directed me to the online customer service form, which just leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth.

OK – day four and no audio via wi-fi. Given all the hype with the audio to sell this app at $10 – and knowing the infrastructure was not in place (as MLB has already admitted with their ‘customs issues’ – clearly this is a disaster of a launch. At some point, there needs to be more news on this. Every effected user should be offered some sort or rebate, even if partial, to compensate for the blatant false advertisement of its product. All I am looking for is this to work ‘as advertised’. This clearly is not, and too many others are seeing the same.

I have had no problem getting audio. I’ve listened to all the Yankees and all the Dodgers games plus a few other games. I used both Wi-Fi and 3G. The sound quality has not been great, especially the Yankees broadcasts, you have to have the volume all the way up and can still barely hear it. I’m hoping they can at least up the volume and hopefully improve the audio quality.

I havent been able to get it yet – I thought becuase I was in Toronto. I hope it comes arounD !!!

Same trouble. Still no audio, very disappointing!

HERE IS A FIX FOR THE AUDIO STREAMING ISSUE THAT WORKED FOR ME!!

Thanks to Adam Ritter at MLB.com for troubleshooting over several days to figure this out:

for an iPod Touch, make sure your time setting for 24 hours is OFF, and that your time is set correctly. The time being off even by a few minutes will cause the CONNECTING/ERROR message.

For the iPhone, same as above and set the time to autosynch.

As soon as I did this on my Touch, the streaming started immediately and has worked for a couple of days.

I have followed all the above steps, hard restarted my iphone, tried 3G and my wifi, downloaded the latest version and this is still not working for me. What a rip! Still waiting for tech support’s reply but I am having my doubts. If anyone has any ideas, I am all ears.

I would like to know when or if Gameday audio will be available on att medianet. I have tried and tried to get customer help and all I got was refered back to the webpage and one that told be to take the battery out of my phone to update it! My device is listed at supported, yet there is no link for it when I go through the process. It would be extremly nice if we could talk to a live person for help! I actually bought this particular phone (samsung propel) because it was supposed to be supported for mlb.com.

Gameday Audio for Medianet is in development. The plan is to get it out for opening day. We’ll have to look into the Propel specifically, but that should be supported.

I have a Blackberry 8310 smartphone running V4.5.0.182 firmware. Ever since the end of spring training my Gameday audio has failed to work. All of last year up until all of spring training the audio worked perfectly for every game. But as soon as opening day occured, the gameday audio no longer functioned. I even resubscribed twice in the hopes that giving MLB more money would help to resolve my issue faster. However, it is now more than a third of the wasy through the season and still no gameday audio. All I get is the message that the protocol is not supported and to try another URL. But there is no other URL offered. All of the gameday links yield the same result.

Any idea when this will be resolved? Should I get my money back for being doubled billed per month for no functionality?

Thanks for commenting. This is the first report we’ve seen here for this issue, and we’ll definitely have the engineers take a look. Can you provide some additional details for us. Which carrier are you on? Are you running on a BIS or BES network?

Also, can you check your options > browser configuration > emulation mode and see if the device is set to BlackBerry or if its Internet Explorer or Pocket IE. It should be set to BlackBerry.

I have an HTC Touch Pro 2 with Sprint as my provider. I am running Win Mo 6.5. I am not able to see a Gameday Audio link on either the Internet Explorer or Opera browsers. I have my IE settings to browse web sites as a mobile device and I have tried the wap.mlb.com and the m.mlb.com websites. Is there anything I can do to resolve this issue?

I am using AT&T as my carrier. I am running on a BIS network.

Yes, there have been some hiccups in the service, but is it going to be totally fixed before the playoffs this year? If we can get great service for the playoffs, I’ll be busting out the champagne flutes!

Nice and good posting. I can find the useful information here. Thank you.
